This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Betty - Let's Scrap

Hi Everyone

This is my last sketch as DT at Let's Scrap and it is with great sadness that I post this layout.  The reason being that it is a farewell to a really lovely lady, who really impacted on so many people's lives.  She was diagnosed with lung cancer and then after an operation to remove the tumour, she very suddenly passed away.  I hope that she is now healthy and at peace where she is.

This one's for you Betty.

To know you is to love you!

Have a great evening!

Rathaus

Hi Everyone

We have had another rainy day today, but luckily enough this afternoon, there was about an hours worth of sunshine and so I was able to get some photo's taken for this post.

Enmarc has come out with their own range of papers - Maverick Collection.  They are really super! So here is the layout I created using this collection.

I also used a beautiful Enmarc swirl and lamp post.  I added a few Prima Almanac accents and Prima flowers and some pearls.

Here is a closer look.

To check out the new Maverick Collection, have a look here.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great evening!

Clipboard Teacher Gift

Hi Everyone

Joe is almost finished his year at nursery school and his teacher is going off on 6 months maternity leave to have her twins.  So I wanted to make something to give her, as a thank you from Joe and I, that she would hopefully be able to use next year in the classroom.

I had the idea of decorating a clipboard and so bought one ages ago and finally decided that this would be the ideal gift, once decorated.

So here is the finished clipboard.

I used Sassafras Apple Jack paper, Echo Park Papers, some Kaisercraft Die Cuts, 7 Gypsies tape, Celebr8 chipboards and year calendar.   I created the photo frame in the left bottom corner and she can then put a photo of the twins in it, if she so wishes.

Joe is really pleased with it and already wanted to drive to school and give it to her! ;-)  I said we would give it to her on the last day of school.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope you have a great evening!

Beautiful Dreamer - Bo Bunny November Challenge / CSI Case File 46

Hi Everyone

Today is an absolute scorcher here in Johannesburg, and I am certainly enjoying it! I am not complaining, after the cool and miserable weather we have had lately! So shine sun, shine!!!

I decided to combine the Bo Bunny November Challenge and CSI Case File 46.

Bo Bunny's challenge was this:
Separate Cluster Technique Challenge:
Separate clusters on your page. You will need to use at least 2 photos.
Create at least 2 clusters with at least 1 photo in each cluster.

And CSI case file was this:

I just loved the colours of this case file and knew my Ambrosia papers would be perfect for this.

My evidence was frames and splash painting on the background. My testimony was really interesting, in that I really had to sit down and think about 18 dreams of mine.  I managed to get my 18 and they are listed on the "Dream" card, under the top photo. I was so pleased to actually do this little exercise as I realised that I must really hold onto these dreams and really try and make them a reality!

As I previously said I used Bo Bunny Ambrosia papers, Bo Bunny flowers and accents. I used a Kaisercraft
stamp for the background stamping, with Wild Plum Dazzles spray. I think the chipboard swirls are Imaginarium Designs, I had got them from my scrap friend Beck.

Here are some close-ups.

Thanks for visiting my blog today
I so love your comments and inspiration!
Have a great evening!

Steph - Prima BAP November

Hi Everyone

I really loved the sketch for Prima's BAP this month.  It was really inspirational and I had quite a few ideas for this layout.  It took me a few days to get it finished, but I think the result is worth it.

So here is the sketch.

2012 November

And of course...here is my layout.

I used Almanac papers and accents.  The chipboard frame I gesso'ed and then painted. The fence I coloured with pigment inks, and then I also used lace to add a different texture.
It was a really special layout for me, as my Aunt is a special person and she deserved a very special layout.

Here are some close-ups.

Thanks so much for popping in!
Your comments are truly appreciated!
Have a great afternoon!

Prima 12 Days of Christmas - Card

Hi Everyone

I created another project for the Prima 12 days of Christmas! This time I created a card and was inspired by the beautiful card that Gerry van Gent created on day 9 here.

Here is my card.

I used Songbird collection papers and cut out, with Prima flowers, Design Worx swirls and some pearls and lace and of course, Prima alpha's for the greeting.

Just a simple card, but one that I would hope to receive in the post. ;-)

Have a great evening!

The Faces of You - Scrap Africa Challenge #11

Hi Everyone

There is a super new challenge at Scrap Africa here and is about creating a project with Chevrons.
Chevrons are really "in" at the moment and I really do like using them, especially for boy pages.

So yes, for this challenge I created a boy page for my boy! ;-)

Here is the layout.

I used Crate Papers and accents, Design Worx cogs and Basic Grey Alpha stickers.  I had a small funnel which I dipped in paint to make the circles on the background and then also used a 7 Gypsies chevron stamp to do the stamping.  The washi tape is Indie Chic MME.

I have loved breaking out of my usual style and trying different things and I absolutely love how this layout came together and the end result.

Here are some close-ups. I did not think that I had to do journalling, as the title and the photo's just tell the story.

Well I hope that you will join us over at Scrap Africa for this chevron challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Boy - Let's Scrap

Hi Everyone

It's midweek only and I am already looking forward to the weekend! ;-)

There is a new sketch challenge at Let's Scrap here.

This is the layout I created.

I used Follow your Heart My Mind's Eye papers and accents, with a 7 Gypsies stamp and October Afternoon Alpha's.

Some close-ups, and also a look at the journalling.

I did some old fashioned pencil shadings on the background, which just added a bit more dimension and interest.

Thanks for stopping by and for your comments.
They are truly appreciated.
Have a super evening!

Sisters - CSI Case File #45

Hi Everyone

I hope that you are having a super weekend and that you are at least finding a little time to scrap and be creative.

I had some fun this morning, creating another layout for CSI. This challenge was such a great one and I loved the colours.

I had this really sweet photo of my sister and I, and I have been wanting to scrap it for quite a while now, and this was the perfect opportunity.

Here was my creation.

I used Echo Park papers, Dots and stripes and This and That, with Crate Paper Toy Box stickers. The stamps used were Chiswick, with a Design Worx chippie, Pink Paislee alphas and Prima flowers.
I did some pencil shadings on the background, but with the lighting, it does not show up so much.

The journalling says this:
Once upon a time, there were 2 sisters. They loved to play "housey house" with their dolls and teddies and tell stories of faraway lands and adventures! They had an entire enchanted garden to playn in, with fearsome trees to climb and conquer and rescue helpless and injured animals! Life was a playground, full of excitement and woven tales!

Here are some close-ups.

This layout certainly brought back some memories.

Thanks for visiting today!
Hope you have a restful and happy Sunday!

Prima - 12 Days of Christmas

Hi Everyone

I am certainly getting into the Christmas and festive mood, and Prima's 12 days of Christmas is certainly helping.

I really loved the tag on day 2 and was also inspired to make a tag! I love receiving special tags on my gifts and so thought it would be so great to make some of my own for Christmas.

So days 2 tag is here. I liked the use of the gesso, pearls and the florals. So here is my tag inspired by Britt Sviggum's tag.

I love the fact that with cards and tags one can use leftovers and off-cuts. So I was able to use little bits from various collections.  I used stickers from Sweet Fairy collection, papers from Romance Novel and Romantique and Alla Prima.  I stamped with Gesso and also used a cuttlebug to cut the lacy bits. Here is a close-up of the stamped gesso below.

Well I certainly need a whole lot more tags for my gifts, so will certainly have to get cracking! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great evening!

Home - CSI Case File #44

Hello Everyone

Today is again one of those rainy and overcast days!! I cannot begin to tell you how many there have been lately! I love the rain, but overcast weather is not good for taking photo's!!! Anyways, I managed to find a reasonably bright spell this afternoon and could take this layout photo to share with you.

It is for the CSI Challenge # 44.

My layout is below.

I did some gesso masking on the background and then used MME Follow Your Heart papers and accents.  The chipboard frame is Design Worx, which I painted with craft paint. The flowers are Prima.
This is certainly a heart layout for me! ;-)

Here are 2 close-ups, so that you also get a better view of the journalling.

Thanks for popping by, I truly do appreciate it.
Hope you have a great evening!

Hold on To Your Dreams - OUAS November Challenge

Hi Everyone

I really scrapped up a storm today and so was able to complete the OUAS November challenge.
This was the lovely sketch.

Here is my version.

The theme was one that I have been wanting to do for a while now.  I really want my son to live this and know it everyday, and hopefully also read one day when he is paging through my albums.

I used Basic Grey papers, with Crate Paper stickers and chipboard accents.  The chicken wire and title is Enmarc. The cogs are Design Worx. I did some coffee stains on the background and really like the way they splattered.  I really enjoyed that technique!!!

Here are 2 close-ups.

Did you happen to see the cute mouse in the bottom right hand corner?

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great evening!

ME - CSI Case File #42

Hi Everyone

It is the most beautiful Sunday morning, the sun is shining and what a wonderful way to start the day!

I eventually was able to take a photo of this layout that has been completed for a few days now, but with birthdays, celebrations etc, I was not able to get to it.

This was the Case File at CSI.

Here is my take on it.

I did some stamping and colouring  on the background, and also gave a light spritz of lemon meringue Dazzles spray. The black and white paper is a no name, as well as the wood swirls.  The other papers and accents are Echo Park.  The gorgeous flowers are Bo Bunny, Petaloo and Prima.

My journalling is at the back of the layout and says this:
I don't often dress up like this, especially with the long and formal dress! This was for Johann's work Christmas do Nov 2011 and I really felt like going to town! I love this dress and I felt like a million dollars! I had recently gone red (hair) and the colouring just all worked so well! I just kept thinking to myself "Hey girl, you're certainly okay and look simply fabulous!"

Here are some close-ups.

Thanks for visiting here today...
I hope you have a super, relaxed Sunday..

Cool Cousins - Scrap Africa Sketch #11

Hi Everyone

Friday is a GOOD day and also being my birthday, it is even better! So I was quickly doing this post and then I was off to dinner with the family and we will be celebrating a little.

So without further adieu, there is a new sketch challenge posted at Scrap Africa here.  Here is the sketch.

And of course, here is my contribution.

I used Echo Park papers and accents.

Here are some close ups.

This is such a great layout for me, because I love the colouring and I love the great photo's!

Perhaps you could join us with a project...you have until 14 November.

Anyways, thanks for stopping by.
Hope you have a great weekend.
