This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Wonderful - ScrapFriends Nov Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone

Happy Monday and hope you had a super day!

We are having another African thunderstorm, with lightning, rain and thunder, but it's warm and humid, so hopefully by morning everything will be fresh and clean again.

I played along with the ScrapFriends challenge here this month and used some of my The Avenues Collection.
It really is a stunning collection.

Here's my take on it.

This photo was just perfect for these papers! We had stayed at a French little hotel, down at the coast and so these papers were just the thing.

I used a Prima stencil for the cobbled wall effect and some Prima flowers and stamens.

I also played with my gelato's and added a watercolour effect beneath the central feature.

Thanks so much for stopping by to have a look.
Hope you have a super evening!

Carefree - Prima PPP November

Hi Everyone

I have been so looking forward to the weekend and of course, now that it is here, it just flies! LOL
Anyways, it's glorious, sunny weather and I feeling refreshed after a dip in the pool, so I can now sit down and share a page with you.

The colours for the Prima PPP are so beautiful.

2013 November PPP

I knew I had the perfect papers for this and really dived into my stash and used some of my old Prima papers. You will not believe these come from the Indeed Collection - Fairy Garden and Reflections Collection - Goldsboro and Kashana. I also used stamps, chipboards and stickers from various Prima collections!

So here is my page.

I am really happy with the way this page turned out and also really pleased to use some of my stash! It's also great that old papers can still look fresh!!! ;-)

I love my new Prima stencil and it was certainly put to good use.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a great Saturday!

Faraway Tree - CSI Case File #98

Hello Everyone

I love it when a page comes together so easily, because all the inspiration, energy and creativity is all lined up. This is the case with this page.  On the weekend I had taken some photo's of these gorgeous Jacaranda's just at the top of our street and so when I saw the CSI colour palette, I knew exactly which photo's to use.
Standing taking these photo's, I also remembered a childhood memory. So again, seeing the case file, it was rather uncanny and I knew also exactly which papers I would use - Secret Garden Graphic 45.

So here is this weeks case file.

Here is my page.

I also got some wonderful inspiration from Gerry van Gent's - A Simple Layout, which is on the Maja Design blog, for the design of the page!

Evidence: Something suspended and frames
Testimony: Once Upon a Time..

My story is folded inside the little envelope and goes like this.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl Denise who loved to read books. She would spend hours everyday being transported to far away places, full of adventure and intrigue. She particularly loved reading about the Faraway Tree and all the adventures of the interesting little creatures that she met there. She loved the magic of the stories!
She also read "Fiela se Kind" and again just loved the mind world of Nina.
Just as Nina believed in fairies, so Denise believed in fairies. She believed, that if you sat under a tree long enough and just listened to the quiet, that when the wind blew, that it was fairies beating their wings and flying off to other adventures. Denise also believed that if you were really, very quiet and looked long and hard enough that she would actually see a fairy.
Denise believed in magic and she was sure that fairies abounded everywhere!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Have a super evening!

Open the Door - BoBunny The Avenues Canvas

Hello Everyone

I hope that you have started your week on a great note and that Monday and Tuesday have been good for you.

I created a canvas using the gorgeous BoBunny The Avenues Collection and wanted to share it with you.

Of late, I have been feeling a little anxious about changes that are happening in my life and also changes that will be happening. I guess we sometimes, all are a little afraid or anxious about change and it is very normal to feel that way. But I also decided that being anxious or afraid, does not really serve me, and that with any change, it is really what you make of it and the mind set you give yourself everyday.

So this canvas was created with the idea, to remind myself that every door that opens is an opportunity and not to be afraid to open that door. Even if I have opened it and it's not quite what I thought it would be, I can always then make another decision. But "open the door" and allow myself the choices!

So here is my canvas.

I just love The Avenues and have so enjoyed creating with it over the past few months.

I love the shutters and the doorways and the soft, beautiful colouring! Just perfect for this canvas.

So how about you..how do you feel about change?

Hope you have a super evening!

Together is my Favourite Place to Be - OUAS Nov 2013

Hello Everyone

I hope you have been having a good weekend and a good Sunday!

I am so happy to share my latest page with you, which is for the OUAS Nov.

Journalling Theme: "My Happy Place"

Here is my take on it.

I used Carta Bella Traditions and chose to bring out the blues. I wasn't at first so sure about the colouring, but I am quite happy with how it turned out.

My journalling is short and sweet, but says exactly what I feel. "I love being your Mommy and I am happiest when I have you close to me!" I certainly love this little boy!!!

I did some stencilling with Shimmerz TexturZ, along with stamping and also some watercolour effects and the chippies were embossed with various colours.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Enjoy your evening!

Today - CSI Case File no.97

Hi Everyone

Yesterday was such a busy day, but it was really great to catch up with Evgenia! We had both our boys with so they could play and we could chat! It was really a lovely afternoon.

I finished my layout for the CSI Case File no. 97.

Here is my take on it.

Evidence: Leaves, Branches, Something Shiny
Testimony: Using the word "Bright"

So much of my scrapbooking these days is about just everyday moments! I love scrapping special moments too, but I think the everyday moments are the "stuff" of life! So that was why I called my page "Today" because I wanted to emphasise that everyday moment.

So my journalling says this:
Somebody, somewhere had the bright idea to put fruit on a stick! This is certainly one of the best inventions for Joe, who is firstly a fruit lover of note and then secondly, a lover of fruit on a stick!! So much care is taken to get each piece of fruit off the stick and into his mouth, and he won't eat little bites off. Each whole piece is removed from the stick and placed in his mouth, where it is devoured. Needless to say there are very sticky hands at the end of this little exercise, but the happiest little boy!

I used Teresa Collins Summer Stories collection mostly, with a few bits and bobs from here and there.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you are having a super weekend!
Cheers

You Colour My World - Scrap Around the World November Challenge

Hi Everyone

I am certainly playing with Scrap Around the World again this month, BUT this time in the Guest Design capacity with the BoBunny DT. Thanks to Helen and BoBunny for this opportunity! ;-)

So here is the post at Scrap Around the World, where you will also find all the details about this challenge and also see the super inspiration from the BoBunny DT, as well as the Scrap Around the World DT.

Here is my take on it.

I kept pretty much with the sketch, as I really liked this chipboard and had wanted to use it for quite a while already and thought it would be perfect for this sketch.

I used the packaging from the BoBunny Dot collection, as well as the actual papers themselves.  The packaging had the rainbow effect and so it caught my eye for this challenge.

I did some gesso stencilling on the background, which just added a little more texture.

It would be awesome if you could play along....you have until the 30 November to submit your pages.

Thanks for popping by!
Have a super, colourful day!

Christmas Cards - BoBunny Silver & Gold

Hi Everyone

I really have been creating and scrapping up a storm this weekend! It has been very productive indeed.
I had most of yesterday afternoon to myself, so I was really able to put in some quantity and quality time.

I made some Christmas cards with the really beautiful BoBunny Silver & Gold Collection.  These were the first cards I have made so far...but at least I have made a start! ;-)

So here they are.

I love how these have turned out and I really hope to finish some more off this week! The time is certainly flying and so I really want to get them all done! ;-)

Have you made some Christmas cards yet?
Hope you have a super Sunday!

Joe - BoBunny Autumn Song

Hi Everyone

YAY! It is Friday! I am sooooo pleased! Just to be able to wind down and just have a little relaxation and LOTS of scrappy time...is just what I need!!!

I really had a creative spurt this week and created a page, just for fun, using the Autumn Song Collection from BoBunny! It has really turned out to be my favourite collection and the one I have certainly used the most.

So this is my "boy" page.

I firstly stamped my background with a BoBunny texture stamp with StazOn ink and then I did some watercolour effects. Thereafter I did some more stamping and then added my bits.

I really am a very efficient scrapper when it comes to papers and embelishments and I hardly ever throw anything away.  This is so true with this page, as I used the insides of the chippie swirls from the Autumn Song Collection and think they work really well here!

Of late I have done a lot of girlie pages and so it was really so nice to get into a grungy boy page and I really love how it turned out! ;-)

This photo was taken in July when we went fishing in Dullstroom! This page just tells the little story of a little boy that just loves being outside and is always adventurous and fun.

My journalling says: "Just love this photo of Joe ambling through the dry grass and looking for some adventure or little creature to attract his attention."

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Dot, Autumn Song/ Autumn Song
12x12 Chipboard Autumn Song
Stamps: Wall to Wall Textures and Stained Textures
Kraft Wood Gears

Well I hope that you can really wind down from the week!
Have a super evening!
