This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Christmas Tags - BoBunny

Hello Everyone

It's a beautiful, quiet and hot day already in Africa! ;-) I can't believe how how it has got and so quickly!!!! I am not complaining....this is my absolute best time of the year!!! ;-)

I enjoyed making the BoBunny tags so much this week, that I made some Christmas one's too.
I used the very cute Elf Magic collection.

One is the more classic styling and the other a bit more playful.

I think this year I may do more tags and less cards, as the tags will be so perfect on gifts.

Have you started a Christmas list yet?
I think that may be my next project! ;-)

Have a super Sunday!

Life is Sweet - Berry71Bleu September Challenge - Things I Love

Hello Everyone

Happy Friday!!!! Yay...always a good day to start the weekend off and get one into that time-off mode.

I have a page up on the Berry71Bleu Blog here today.  This month's challenge is about "Things I Love"....

So firstly I created a board of a few of the things I love.

One of these is cake....LOL...so my page is about that!:-)

I used one of Marivic's gorgeous tags for this page.  I did put my title over it, but did think it was just perfect, as one can still see that chocolate ganache cake behind the title along with the rest of the tag goodies.

Here's a closer look at the tag.

I used one of my favourite stencils and did some gesso and watercolouring.

The journalling is very "tongue in cheek" and just a little bit of a giggle.
"Admittedly, I have a bit of a sweet tooth and I really do love a decadent cake or pudding.  When one can treat oneself, with a little something sweet, why absolutely not?! My thoughts are that life can be bitter enough and that a little treat can sweeten any day! Marie Antoinette was a woman after my own heart! ;-)

I used the vintage Chic Collection from Heidi Swapp.  It's still a firm favourite!

I hope this added some sweetness to your day!
Have a sweet one...whatever you are doing!

I have the house to myself.  It's peaceful and quiet and I have managed to get a lot of creating done this morning! ;-) Public Holidays are so great, to just catch a little breather.

I have some tags to share with you. I used the beautiful Madeleine Collection, the Madeleine Ephemera Pack and the very pretty Primrose Collection.

I used lots of layers and pretty die-cuts, along with some BoBunny lace and pearls and Blossoms.

Here are the individual tags.

I always like to have some tags and cards on hand, for a birthdays, etc etc.

BoBunny really has some amazingly, pretty collections. You can pop along here to check out their new collections and new amazing products.

Always - Prima September BAP

Hello Everyone

I am so pleased that tomorrow we have a half week breather, as it's a Public Holiday! ;-) So it means there is no rush to get Joe off to bed, or myself, in fact, and so there is time to blog, scrap and chat! LOL

I finished a page for the Prima BAP this month. This page kind of took on a life of it's own and just developed and it did not turn out the way I had planned it to.  Not in a bad way...just different!

Here was the sketch.

2014 BAP Keren

I had wanted to keep the right hand side leaner....but it did not work out like that.

I used the Something Blue Collection, along with some other bits and bobs from other Prima collections. I did make use of the flower backing, as the matting for my photo, which I was very pleased at too! ;-)

The little buttons for this collection were stunning.  I had to make sure that I used some.

Here is a close up of the journaling.  I just know that these two will be together forever! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super day tomorrow.

Wanderlust - Mixed Media Canvas - BoBunny

Hello Everyone

A week has passed since my last post and it's hard to believe!!! What a hectic week too....

Today I am up on the BoBunny Blog with a mixed media canvas tutorial. I would love it if you popped along and checked it out.

Here's a little sneak peek.

I will be back with some more shares tomorrow.

Have a super Monday!

2 Sun Babes - Scrap Africa Vintage Challenge no.35

Hello Everyone

I hope you had a good Monday.  I had a hectic and busy day at work, so nice to finally relax at my craft table and get a few things done.

There is a new Vintage Challenge up at Scrap Africa and we have a super Guest Designer Lisa Griffith.  So please pop over and take a look.  She is amazing! ;-)

Here is my take on this challenge.  I created a vintage page of my sister and I when we were very small little girls! ;-)

I really did dive into my scrappy stash for this page and was happy to some very old goodies! So perhaps this page is probably vintage, in more ways than one! LOL. The papers and most of the chippies are Crate Paper, along with some Basic Grey chippies.

I used a lot of chipboard pieces, along with the gorgeous circle rounds from Blue Fern Studios.

I created the background, with my usual combination of gesso, watercolouring and stamping! ;-)

I just know that one or two of you, still have some of these bits in your scrappy stash too! ;-) But whether you will admit it, is another story too! He he he

Here's a close-up of the journalling and tells you about many a holiday spent by these pools. Badplaas, means Pool Farm and they had many a pool to pick from.

It would be awesome if you could play along.....
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Christmas (eventually) in September!!

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a super weekend and that it has been a restful one! We have had such blissful weather, that it has been very difficult to stay inside!!

I took my son to the park this afternoon and the temp in my car showed 31C...it was HOT! ;-)

Anyways...Lizzy Hill will be proud of me..I have actually finished 2 Christams Cards.  Look, I did start them weeks ago...BUT, they are now finished! He he he...

Here's the second.

The leafy mistletoe was fussy cut from some Kaisercarft paper and the rest are just bits and bobs and leftovers.

Hopefully I can get some more made in the next few weeks....otherwise I might be a leeeetle short on Christmas Cards this year!! ;-)

Have a super Sunday!
Cheers

Birthday Card - BoBunny

Hello Everyone

Life is just waaaay too hectic at the moment! I wish it would just slow down, for me to take a step up!! LOL

Anyways...the joys of life I guess!

I have a card to share with you that I made for a Birthday and I used the gorgeous Primrose Collection.

I had used this die on a previous project and really loved it, and so thought it would be lovely on this card too! I never just cut a die-cut once....I always on cutting, cut a few to keep on hand, so that maybe for the next project I have something pretty on hand and it's also a time saver! ;-) So this one was already cut! ;-)

Most people really appreciate getting a hand made card...and for me...I can't buy one to give, when I know I can make a much prettier one!

Anyways....thanks for stopping by!
I really do appreciate your visits!
Have a great day!

Live Your Own Fairy Tale - Birthday Canvas - Scrap Around the World September Challenge

Hello Everyone

I hope your Monday was good and that it was kind to you! I had a fairly busy one, but not a bad one at all! ;-)

As I mentioned yesterday, it's my neice's 11th Birthday today and so I shared the trinket box with you yesterday and today I share the canvas which I made for her as well. I am also entering into the Scrap Around the World September Challenge, because it fitted in beautifully with the theme.

Here was the super, magical mood board.

I used the Enchanted Garden Collection, which was perfect for this theme.

The magical element of the mood board was by far the one that stood out for me and little girls, always believe in magic! So I wanted to give my neice something that could encourage her, but also awaken some of that magic inside her - hence the title - Live Your Own Fairy Tale!! This photo was taken a few years ago....but is such a playful and gorgeous one, that I just had to use it! ;-)

I used the new BoBunny stickable stencils and they were just so awesome to create my background, along with some gesso, paints and stamps.

I used the Ephemera Pack for this collection and I loved the rub-ons and goodies that came with it! I still think the rub-ons look fresh! ;-)

I fussy cut all sorts of little bits, which added to this magical theme.

All the blooms are Petaloo flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope this added a little magic to your day!
Have a super one!

Gift Trinket Box - BoBunny Enchanted Garden

Hello Everyone

I hope you have had a good and restful weekend! I have had a reasonably restful weekend and have also managed to clean up my working area considerably! I was getting dire! ;-)

My niece turns 11 tomorrow and I created 2 gifts for her and I really hope that she will like them.  I will share the one with you today and then the other one tomorrow. The first is a gift trinket box.

I wanted it to be shabby chic and so did a paint crackle with white and clover Ranger Paints and then coloured the edges with some pigment ink.

I used the Ephemera Enchanted Garden Pack to add to my papers. It's really such a fun pack to use...as it's a little bit of everything nice! ;-) I still love rub-ons and I used quite a few on this top cover.

I love this whimsical collection and there are so many little wonderful images that can be used to fussy cut.

One can really get a nice view of the crackle effect here.

Each side is a different.  But again...check out these awesome rub-ons. They certainly still look fresh to me! ;-)

I used some BoBunny lace that I have had for ages to line the sides of this trinket box and it was the perfect size.

I really hope my niece likes it...and will hopefully keep something special inside!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a super Sunday!

21st Birthday Collage - Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Everyone

I had told you about a BIG project that I was doing last week and I can finally share it with you.  The Birthday part was on Saturday evening and I am pretty confident that Lawrence really liked the canvas.

This is by far the biggest project I have ever done and it really was a BIG task..... This canvas is 1m x 1.5m to give you an idea.... ;-)

Lawrence wanted a Bohemian style canvas, with reds and oranges. So immediately I knew that I would use Autumn Song by BoBunny.  I was a little worried that I would not have enough left of this collection, but in the end was really just enough papers etc. I also used some chipboard gates from Design Worx and a few other bits and bobs.

I don't want to bore you with too many close-ups, but these few should give you an idea of the background work - gesso, paints, stamping etc.

I embossed these gold gates and the name and the 21.  I must have used about 3/4 bottle of embossing powder just on these pieces.  They may not look so big here, but they were rather large! ;-)

I did a lot of fussy cutting too....but it was worth it! ;-)

This canvas spans photo's across the 21 years from baby to man!!

So yes, as you can imagine, quite time consuming and a lot of efforts and materials, but really pleased with the result...and even happier that Lawrence loved it too! ;-)

Whether I will do another big project like this again, in the near future...probably not....LOL!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope you have a super Tuesday!

Sketch no.34 - Scrap Africa

Hello Everyone

I had an awful Monday, it was a really blue one! However, coming home to find my BoBunny DT box, filled with so many amazing goodies, was my absolute ray of sunshine and the perfect "pick me up"! It was an early Christmas for me! ;-)) So very soon, you will see all the lovely new products being showcased here!

There is a new sketch challenge up at Scrap Africa here. Please pop along and have a look at the Guest Designers work...as well as the DT.

I decided to create a tag and here is the result.

I used the beautiful Enchanted Garden Collection from BoBunny, as well as the Ephemera Package for this collection.  The flowers used are Petaloo. It has a vintage feel to it, which I really like!

I really hope you will pop along and play along!
Hope your Monday was better than mine! ;-)
