This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Pssssssst.....

Hello Everyone

Can you believe it's the 01st December tomorrow! Man....this past month has just flown by!

I am sorry that that there weren't more posts this week, but with Christmas work functions and going away the weekend...it was very hectic on this end!

The weekend away, though, was really restful and I got some nice sun, some relax time and just spent time with family and friends.

We were in Mpumalanga, which is sub-tropical and lush and we loved the weather.
Here are some photo's....which really just reminded me again....this is AFRICA!!!!

Seen it yet?

Here's a close-up...

We kept a close eye on the kids, and there were strict instructions not to even go anywhere near the waters edge!!!!

Anyways...on that note...
Have a super evening!

Cards with Glimmer Spray BoBunny

Hello Everyone

I was up last week on the BoBunny blog to showcase the new Glimmer Sprays.  They really are wonderful and I love the Gold, Bronze and Sugar! ;-) But they all are stunning!.

I used the Glimmer Sprays to add some bling to my cards.

I used the stickable stencils to create the backgrounds and really love how neat and crisp the images turned out.

On the first card I used bronze and then on the second card, a combination of bronze and gold.

Glimmer always adds a bit of glam! ;-)

Have a super evening!

After the Storm - Prima BAP Nov 2014

Hello Everyone

Sorry for not having posted for a few days...but I have really been trying to create and so have stayed away from the PC! ;-)

I took some amazing photo's about 3 weeks back, of the beautiful Jacaranda trees, after a storm, the night before, in our neighbourhood.  So this was the photo for my page.

I used most of the bits and pieces that I had left of the Meadow Lark collection.

I pulled in the blues and purples from the photo.

This is the journalling.  I had taken Joe to school and we both had marveled at the purple at carpet! ;-)

On the Blue Fern chipboard corners, I used blue pearlescent powder and they really came out so well.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate your comments and love!
Have a super day!

Farewell Card

Hello Everyone

I have to share this story with you.

I was asked to make a card for a colleague of mine (a guy), that is retiring at the end of the month and the workplace is holding a farewell party for him on Friday.  So I was asked to bring the card on Monday.  Over the weekend the card went straight out of my head and so Monday came and I had made no card and felt a little bad, but said I would bring it today.

This morning I woke up at 3am and it was the first thing I thought...I haven't made a card yet! I got up at 3am and made this card and then got back into bed at 4am...not that I went back to sleep!!!!

Can you believe that I could be so dilly!!!!! I was so cross with myself.! But thankfully, the card turned out okay!

So here is my 3am, masculine, farewell card.

I used BoBunny Wild Card and the Souvenir Ephemera Pack, along with some Kaisercraft stamps.
Having a collection, with matching accents etc. surely did help!

Not too bad for 3am!!!!! LOL

Have you ever done something dilly like this????

Have a super day!

Celebrate Card & Create Magazine/BoBunny

Hello Everyone

I posted a few days back about the fabulous CREATE magazine that is so fabulous this month and has soooooo much BoBunny goodness in it.  It really is super creative and inspiring.

Here's the link again for the free download.

I created this card, with the beautiful Madeleine Collection.

The sketch was really great and so it was easy to create this card.

I made the flowers myself and I am so pleased with how well they came out.

They did take a bit of time..but I made a large number of flowers in one go, so now I have a little stash on hand, for when I need some! It is really economical too!
I will share a tutorial shortly, where I show you how to make these.

For now....keep the sunny side up!
Have a super day!

Cards - Glimmer Spray BoBunny

Hello Everyone

It has been a lovely sunny day...but I spent most of it indoors...because my son is unwell.  I am pretty sure he has tonsilitis, so has been really poorly. So I was able to get a lot of scrappy things done, inbetween medicine and Mommy duties, as we did not go anywhere today.

I sure hope that tomorrow he is better, otherwise I will have to take him to the Doc. Poor little man!

I was up on the BoBunny blog yesterday, with the new BoBunny Glimmer Sprays and cards that I had created. A little bit of Bling, is surely a good Thing!! ;-)

Here's a little sneak peek....I really hope you will pop over and take a look.

I used the super BoBunny stickable stencils, along with the Glimmer Spray to create this background!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope you have a super Sunday!

Pepsi - TAG IT Scrap Africa Challenge no.39

Morning Everyone

We have a new challenge over at Scrap Africa and it's a TAG challenge.

Tags are so versatile and can be used in so many ways!
So our challenge to you is to use your tags and show us what you can do with them.
Please just make sure that you use at least 2 tags.
You can create a page, card or OTP project.

I created a page about our newest, little addition to the family.
We are not sure if it's a he or she...but our new parrot's name is Pepsi.  We will only know when it is about 2 whether it is male or female.

Pepsi is absolutely sweet and adorable and even though we have had him (I think it's a him) only for a week, he has crawled into our hearts.  He is a Ring Neck Parrot and is blue/grey.

I first started off a a different page and background and it was just not working.  So I put it aside. A day later I was looking on Pinterest and saw this sketch below with tags, and thought that it was perfect. So my layout was inspired by this sketch.

I really dove into my stash and the tags I have had for ages, they are Studio112 (K&Company) and the patterned papers and accents are MME Nostalgia.

Here is a close-up of the journalling.

I used a lot of stamps around the page. These are the staple of any of my pages lately....no one is complete without stamps! I love them! ;-)

I was also reminded that tags are really such a great element and can be used in so many ways! Looking through my stash I saw that I have so many 7 Gypsies tags...I really must use them more!!!

So hopefully you will play along...I am tagging you!!!!! ;-))

Have a super day!

Remember - Scrap Around the World November Challenge

Hello Everyone

From a cold and miserable Johannesburg....!!! We are having such strange weather, it is just untrue!
I hope that summer will return very shortly! ;-)

I am sharing my entry for the Scrap Around the World November challenge.  The mood board is really amazing by Zuzia.

I love the vintage feel of this board, the music sheet, the wood boards and the purples and pinks in the beautiful bunch of flowers.  So these were the inspiration seeds for the canvas I created.

Here is my canvas.

This is a Christmas gift for my sister.  She is such a "nosy parker" though and so already caught glimpse of it, on my table on the weekend. In any case, I did not tell her who it was for.

The photo of this beautiful lady, is my Aunt, Berendina (Dina for short) and she was also my sisters God Mother.  She was a really special lady in our lives, as she was like our second Mother. I will type up some journalling, which will go on the back of the canvas.

I used old music sheet and then bits and pieces from the Kaisercraft Art of Life Collection. I did a lot of fussy cutting, and used it in between the flower clusters and around the page. I also used the wood grain paper from the BaseCoat collection.

I did gesso, stencilling, stamping, watercolouring and painting to create the background.

Here is side on of the cluster.....which gives you some idea of the depth.

This was a really special project for me and I really went through a range of emotions while creating it, from sadness to sorrow and grief and then happiness and fun memories. I am sure that my sister will feel the same and I hope she likes it as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a super evening!

Stashy Christmas Tags

Hello Everyone

You might have noticed that I have been creating a lot of tags lately...and I certainly am loving them so much!! ;-) I hope the recipients will love them too! ;-)

Anyways, I have been diving into my stash and have been using all sorts of bits and pieces.
Here's the result.

The cute little Christmas stamps on the background, I have had for ages and have hardly used them...so out they came and aren't they pretty and delicate.  I am certainly going to use them some more!!!!

Thanks so much for popping by!
I really appreciate the visits.
Have a super day!

Selfies - BoBunny Souvenir Collection

Hello Everyone

Have you seen the new collection from BoBunny - Souvenir? It's a gorgeous travel collection...but really is so versatile too and can be used for lots of different theme's.

I created a non-travel layout with this collection.

It is a little busier than my normal pages....but I so loved the arrows that once I started I could not stop! ;-) I like the overall effect though....so I am not unhappy with it.

I used the stickable BoBunny stencils to create the gesso-stencilled background and then did some watercolouring and stamping.

I love the chipboard and noteworthy bits from this collection.  It's a little bit retro and quite funky! Really great for fun pages.

I have some journalling on the back of the page....and it tells of our little adventure to the park, armed with the camera and a few Rand for an ice-cream.

This is the first time I have ever taken selfies and Joe and I were both cracking up, trying to get the shot. I look quite serious though....but think this is the instant I was really trying to aim the camera in the right place! ;-) LOL

Taken any selfies lately???? ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a super evening!

1 - Berry71Bleu November Challenge

Hello Everyone

It is so good to be able to post something, as we actually have electricity! Sometimes living in Africa, really does have it's frustrations!!!

Anyways, the new challenge at Berry71Bleu is up on the blog and it's an early years Birthday challenge.

This month we want to see a project created about any early years Birthday celebration, whether it's your won, your children or a loved one.

So I created a layout of my Son's 1st Birthday. It was a really special day indeed.

Since I was married twice and the second time was only well into my 30's, I really did not think that I was going to have children.  When at 36 my son was born, it surely was a life changing event and our lives have never been the same!!!!! We have been blessed by this little boy and we certainly love him dearly!

So yes, his 1st birthday was a really special one.  He is also the only grandson...so even more so! ;-)

To see more details and close-ups, please pop over to the Berry71Bleu blog and hopefully you will also play along. There are some wonderful goodies up for grabs too! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a fabulous day!

BoBunny Christmas Gifts

Hello Everyone

I hope you have had a super Sunday! It is a special day for me today...it is my Birthday! So it was a day spent with the family and a really lovely day! So now the guests have left, the dishes are all done, Joe is in bed....and I can relax! ;-)

I altered a perfume box and a coffee jar with the, really pretty Candy Cane Lane Collection from BoBunny.

The coffee jar is a Jacobs coffee bottle...which had the perfect colouring bottle top.

I filled it with fruit jellies.  Here is the other side.

The box is an altered perfum box, which really was just too pretty to throw out.

I did some stamping and then just layered up a few pretty elements and some blooms and leaves.

Here is the inside.  I am not sure yet, what this box will hold...but we'll see.

I am now really going to go and put my feet up....and relax.

So thanks for stopping by!
I really do appreciate the visits.
Have a super evening!

Life Captured - Scrap Africa Sketch Challenge no.38

Morning Everyone

I can't believe it's the 01st November and yes....another step closer to the festive season! Yikes!!!!! LOL

Anyways....it's all good and I am excited that Christmas will be here soon and it's a wonderful time to celebrate withe family and friends and just enjoy each other's company.

Today we have a new sketch challenge up on the blog at Scrap Africa and perhaps you can play along.

I created a canvas, with the beautiful papers from BoBunny - Madeleine Collection.

On my previous page I used some string and it actually came from inspiration from this page.  This patterned paper had the grid lines on and I thought it would be cool if I could accentuate the lines...and string came to mind.  So string, glue, gesso and paints were my play things and I am very pleased with the result.

Here's a close-up of the one cluster and the string.

All the blooms and flowers were also one's that I made.

I did a lot of painting, inking and stamping on the background.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a super day!
