This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Calendar - Graphic 45

Hello Everyone

I hope that you have had a good and restful weekend and hopefully you got some scrappy time too!

I really wanted to play along with the Jan Graphic 45 challenge and so I recycled an old calendar and made a 2016 one...Graphic 45 style! ;-)

Here's a look at the outside and also the first 3 months.

I really can't wait to put this on my desk tomorrow, at work, and start using this beauty! I am really pleased with how it turned out! ;-)

I used all bits and pieces of Graphic 45 papers and various collections.

Anyways...now 2016 can really begin! LOL...and it''s almost February already! ;-)

I'll share the other months with you, over the next few days.

Have a super Sunday!

Cards - BoBunny

Hello Everyone

Man, was I sad to see that Basic Grey is closing down!! These were some of the first papers I ever scrapped with! In recent years I have not bought too many of their goodies....but it's always sad for me when big scrappy companies close down!

Anyways, I can say that I am still totally thrilled to be designing for BoBunny and their new collections are just fabulous! ;-)

I love each and every one and I am really having so much fun getting stuck into them.

I made some cards from Soiree and Secret Garden.
The first one is using Soiree.

This is such a soft and pretty collection!.

The second one is using Secret Garden.

I did lots of fussy cutting on this one.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a fabulous day!

Misc. Me - Calendar Girl

Hello Everyone

I was thrilled when I received my previous BoBunny box and it contained the gorgeous Calendar Girl Collection....it is just amazing and so gorgeous! It is such a versatile collection and I have not even begun to really make headway into this collection.  However, I did put together my diary and my journal with this collection and my colleagues at work are green with envy! ;-)

Here's my diary.

I just kept the cover simple, but wanted to use all those positive affirmations to see, on a daily basis.
I just loved all these sentiments.

I went through my stash of goodies as well and also dug out all my number stickers and rub-ons, so that I could add dates to my calendar, instead of writing the dates.

I keep adding to it, with all the little bits and pieces from this gorgeous collection.
It's a constant work in progress! ;-)

My journal looks like this.

Again, I kept the cover simple, but so love it! ;-)

I used the journal pieces from this collection to start off my journal.

This journal is obviously a work in progress too and I am certainly really motivated and keen to keep up with it, because it's not only pretty, but it has sentiments and quotes that just add so much to everyday life! I simply love it to bits! ;-)

Anyways, hows your diary and journal looking for 2016?
Are you a diary and journal person?

Hope you have a super and inspired day!

Cards - Penny Black Stamps

Hello Everyone

I hope you all had a good weekend and a good Monday!

In December I treated myself to some Penny Black stamps.  A Christmas present from Denise to Denise! LOL

Anyways, I started playing with them and here are 2 results.

I did a lot of fussy cutting and added dimension.

One can really do so much with these pretty stamps. On this card I used different patterned papers and cardstock for the colouring of the leaves and flowers.  I also used some BoBunny pearlescents to add highlights.

Here is the second card and second stamp.

On this stamp I used watercolours to colour the flowers and leaves.

Again, I fussy cut the flowers and leaves and then layered them up.

I still have another 2 stamps from the same range and are still going to play with those.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a super day!

Canvas - Scrap Africa Mood Board Challenge no.67

Hello Everyone

We have a gorgeous, new mood board at Scrap Africa and being a new year, with new thoughts and aspirations, this is a lovely, inspirational board! ;-)

What does 2016 hold for you?
What are your hopes and desires?

I created a canvas for this challenge.

I created this canvas, so that I can look at it everyday and remember and focus on this sentiment.
If I had to choose a word for 2016, then it would be "Focus".

When I saw this on Pinterest I just knew that I had to use it for my sentiment.

I used some pieces from 7 Dots Studio, which were perfect for this piece "Be Happy Today"
and
"Love Yourself" and "Keep it Real"

The chipboard pieces are Celebr8.

We would love for you to play along and there are some yummy goodies from BoBunny up for grabs too! ;-)

Maybe play along here.

Have a super Friday!
Thanks for stopping by!

Cards - FabScraps Serenity Collection

Hello Everyone

Sorry for being missing in action for a few days.
I so love having my brother here and it's really so great to spend time with him and the family and sadly he left yesterday evening but now at least, my life can get some normality again! ;-)

I have some cards to share with you, from the soft and beautiful Serenity Collection from FabScraps.
Here is the first card.

I upcycled an old scarf to provide some softness for this card.

Supplies List:
Patterned Paper: FabScraps C77 002 Cherished 2; FabScraps Harmony 2 C77 004
Journal Pack: MC77 001A
Blooms: 4 – 1 small, 2 medium sized and 1 large
Die-cut leaves
Cardstock: soft teal and 2 greens
White Pearl
White Lace
3D Adhesive Foam
Greeting Stamp & writing stamp
Pigment Ink – Versa Magic Sahara Sand & Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy
White Gel Pen
Instructions:
  1. Cut a piece of soft teal cardstock 30cm x 16cm and fold in half.  Use Sahara Sand to ink all the edges.
  2. Use Sahara Sand pigment ink and the writing stamp to stamp from the top right towards the middle and from the bottom left towards the middle.  Don’t use an acrylic block, but just press down with your fingers to stamp.
  3. Tear a 9cm x 16 cm from the stripey Harmony 2 patterned paper and ink the edges with Sahara Sand. The 9cm edges are straight and the 16cm edges are torn.
  4. Stick down this piece in the middle of the card, not gluing the torn edges completely to the edge, so that you can tuck some lace underneath, as well as turn up these torn edges.
  5. Fussy cut 3 envelopes from the journal pack elements, as well as some stamped circles and the butterfly circle and a small butterfly. Ink all the edges and arrange as per the photo.  The 3 envelopes are raised with 3D foam.
  6. I recycled an old scarf for my lacey elements, but any petty lace will do and must be tucked under the torn edges of the stripey paper and glued in place.
  7. Stamp the sentiment with Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy on the writing side of the Harmony 2 patterned paper.  I used a fairly white-ish part, so that my stamping would be clearly visible. Cut out the stamped sentiment and ink the edges with Sahara Sand.
  8. Use 3D foam to adhere the sentiment across the 3 envelopes.
  9. Place your blooms, on the right hand-side above the sentiment, layering them up. Also add the die-cut leaves, which have been highlighted with a white gel pen.
  10. Add some more lacey bits inbetween this cluster, for softness.
I also made a tag from this beautiful collection.

I had received this crocheted doiley in a prize pack and loved that it was the perfect fir for this tag.

Supplies List:
Patterned Paper: FabScraps C77 006 Peaceful 2, FabScraps C77 002 Cherished 2
Stencils:  FabScraps DS35 005 Jungle Twine
Journal Pack: MC77 001A
Blooms: 2 medium sized blooms, 1 green and 1 orange
Cardstock: white
Die-Cuts:  3 Ornate circular die-cuts, 1 very small (approx. 2cm diameter), small (approx. 6.5cm diameter) and 1 medium (approx. 10cm diameter)
Brown Pearls and a brown brad
White and cream lace
3D Adhesive Foam
Crocheted doiley – approximately 7.5cm diameter
Greeting Stamp
Distress Ink – Tea-dye
Pigment Ink – Jumbo Java
Instructions:
  1. Cut a piece of white cardstock 11,5cm x 18cm and distress the edges and ink with tea-dye distress ink.
  2. Cut a rectangle 10.5cm x 16,5cm of Peaceful 2 patterned paper and distress and ink the edges, with tea-dye ink.
  3. Stick down this Peaceful 2 rectangle onto the cardstock.
  4. Place the Twine stencil over the entire tag and again, using tea-dye distress ink, ink over the entire patterned paper, ensuring a fairly even coverage of ink.
  5. Cut an ornate circular die-cut, approx. 10cm in diameter, from the Peaceful 2 paper, using the dragonfly side. Cut another smaller circle die-cut from the Cherished 2 paper.
  6. Ink the edges of these circles with tea-dye and then stick them down, the bigger one top left, just so that the left hand side of the circle just overlaps the left hand side of the tag.  The smaller one, bottom right and slightly tucked under the larger one. The very small one, raise with 3D foam and tuck under the medium doiley, top left of the tag.
  7. Cut out the “Just for You” circle from the journal pack goodies and adhere, using the 3D foam to the centre of the larger doiley. Also add the crocheted doiley and secure with glue.
  8. Add the white lace, under the medium sized doiley and the cream lace for the tag holder, using the brown brad.
  9. Add brown pearls and layer blooms, as per the photo.
  10. Lastly stamp a “greeting” in the top right hand corner using Jumbo Java Pigment ink.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super, scrappy day!

Christmas Gift - BoBunny Cardstock and Bling

Hello Everyone

I am sitting her in my study with the roof fan going and really hoping that we will get some rain this afternoon. We have had a heat wave for the last 2 weeks or so, with temperatures going up to 39C, virtually every day.
It has been incredibly hot and have had very little rain!!
We could really do with a little cooling down!! ;-)

Anyways....

I gave my Mother a Christmas present this year, which I just slightly altered with some cardstock and some bling from BoBunny.

Here's what it looked like before alteration.

I punched some doiley circles with a Martha stewart circle punch for the inside.

I then added some BoBunny pearls.

For the outside, I added some ribbon around the edge and then some deocration on top.

I added some blue pearlescent too....which was really such a cool way to add a little bling too.

Just a few little touches can make quite a difference.

My Mom loved it, so I was really pleased about that.  It is sitting on her dressing table in her room!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a super evening!

Adventure - FabScraps Jungle Collection

Hello Everyone

I have quite a few FabScraps projects that I must share and so will be posting these over the next few days! ;-)

I used the Jungle Collection to create this mixed media page.

Here are some close-ups.

I also have a full tutorial below.

Supplies List:
Patterned Paper: FabScraps Jungle Pattern C78 002; FabScraps Jungle Tropical Flowers C78 006,
FabScraps Tropical Pattern C78 008; FabScraps Jungle Forest C78 004
Stencil: FabScraps DS35 005 Jungle Twine
Stickers: Jungle Mist Vinyl Stickers ST78 002
Card Kit: Jungle Mist MC78 001A
Cardstock: Corrugated white; Brown; Watercolour paper
Stamps: Websters Jump Rope Background stamp; Impression Obsession Leaf Stamp
Die-cut: Brick pattern
3D Adhesive Foam
Pigment Ink – Jumbo Java, Niagara Mist, Hint of Pesto, Tea Leaves
Acrylic Paint: White and Citrus Ranger
Newspaper print Washi tape
Gesso
Photo: 8cm x 10cm
Blue beads (small)
Crackle paste
White Glue

Instructions:
1 Cut the brown cardstock to 30cm x 30cm and distress the edges.
2.      Cut the watercolour paper to 29cm x 29cm and distress the edges and ink with jumbo java.
3.      Cut along the pattern lines, approx. a 10cm to 11cm width piece of paper, from the wavy side of the Tropcial Patterned paper.
4.      Completely cover the back side of this piece with white glue and adhere to the centre of the watercolour paper, as per the layout photo.
5.      Cut a piece of 7cmx14cm piece of the Jungle Patterned stripey paper and the same size piece from the Jungle Tropical Flowers paper.
6.      Adhere the tropical flowers paper 6,5 cm down from the top of the page, on the left hand side of the wavy patterned paper piece.  Adhere the stripey piece 8,5 cm down from the top of the page, towards the right hand side of the wavy patterned piece, overlapping the tropical flowers block.
7.      Using the jungle stencil, gesso down the pattern lines, from top left down to bottom right, in a diagonal fashion. Allow this to dry.
8.      Using your spray bottle, spray liberal amounts of water over your gesso areas.  Add little drops of citrus paint onto these wet areas.  Now spritz more water into these little drops of paint, so that it starts to run.  Pick up your page and move the paint and water around, so that it runs in between your gesso stencilled areas.  Allow this to dry.
9.      Do the same process, as above, around the edges of the patterned paper.
10.  Matt the photo with the corrugated white cardstock, tearing the edges for a rustic look.
11.  Raise and adhere the photo to the centre of the 2 blocks of patterned paper.
12.  Die-cut the brick pieces from the brown cardstock and randomly add little clusters around your photo, as per the photo layout.
13.  Randomly stamp with the Websters background stamp along the edges of the patterned wavy paper with Niagara Mist pigment ink.
14.  Randomly stamp with the leaf stamp, in the 2 different green shades of pigment ink, also along the edges of the wavy patterned paper.
15.  Fussy cut some leaves and fronds from the Jungle Forest patterned paper. Raise and place these, in and around the photo, as per the layout photo.
16.  Add crackle paste and glue to adhere the small blue beads, to the top left of the wavy patterned paper and the middle bottom of the photo. Scatter them, so that they are not solid blobs.  Allow this to dry.
17.  Add highlights to the edges of the bricks with white acrylic paint.
18.  Cut the die-cut tag from the card kit in half. Ink the edges with Jumbo Java and adhere as per the layout photo.  Tear strips of the Washi tape and place over these die-cut halves.
19.  Stick the Adventure sticker onto white cardstock and trim.  Use the leftovers to stick along the washi tape, creating layers.

20.  Adhere the Adventure sticker to the top of the page and write some journaling on the bottom of the page.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
 Have a super evening!
